SENCo & DSL Support

‘New to post’ or returning to role can be daunting. Both SEND and Safeguarding

are a constantly changing world of guidance, statutory requirements and hot topics.

Do you feel that you need a guide to help you find your way through this jungle to ensure the best support for the children in your care?

Sara Alston is an experienced mentor and coach who has worked successfully with

staff at different stages of their careers, including students, NQTs, and Senior Leaders.  SEA Inclusion and Safeguarding provides tailored packages of support and mentoring for SENCos and Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Topics Covered

Support is tailored to you and your school’s needs. It will work to suit

you and could include:

  • Occasional meetings

  • Programme of  regular support

  • Support with specific projects or pieces of  work

  • Support to produce case studies and your data story to prepare for OFSTED

Support for 'underSENCOed' schools is a specialism of Sara's.

Benefits

By working with SEA Inclusion and Safeguarding, your staff are supported to become effective and confident practitioners who understand how to fulfill their role and how it fits in with the larger whole school picture.

“Words cannot express how valued Sara's support and guidance was. She offered insightful advice and has supported me to develop the SEND practice within my school. I have great confidence in my school's SEND provision due to Sara's in depth support and knowledge and I feel that it is a real strength of the school. We worked very effectively as a team- in fact I don't know what I'd have done without her!”
